Counseling/therapy for individuals, families, and couples

Perhaps you just need to get something off your chest in a confidential environment, or wish to seek long term counseling or coaching. Either way meeting with me can be a place for you to have a conversation without worrying about criticism.

I help individuals and families find their optimum solutions to life’s difficulties through therapy or coaching. My first step with you is to build a relationship of trust and find your strengths. Using these strengths we create a positive environment together. It is in this environment that we tackle issues with the intension of moving towards hope, joy and your goals.

I am a a EMDRIA certified EMDR therapist. My formal training is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), TF-CBT, EMDR, and Solution Focused Therapy but I believe each individual or family has different needs. In meeting, we will work together to find a method that will work for your goals and needs. This may involve a formal program to follow, a mix of techniques, or even play or art therapy!

In session we often utilize techniques to help with early trauma and attachment issues.

I also use Dr. Philip Mansfield’s Flash technique in conjunction with EMDR to help clients reduce the disturbance of event before we begin to process. This can be helpful if there is a memory that a client is fearful directly thinking about a memory.

An additional service offered is Dr. Stephen Porgeses safe and sound protocol (SSP). This is a five-day (or sometimes more) listening protocol that can help a client with anxiety, PTSD, and sound sensitivities. The service is available for people who see other therapists in order to enhance therapeutic results.

I am a proud member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) which provides support to both therapists and members of the community to increase the quality and knowledge of available therapies in California.

My graduate education is in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University (GO WAVES). I also had the privilege to study wellness at the University of Denver while earning my bachelor’s degree.

My experience with children, teens, adults, and families has covered emotional and physical trauma, sexual abuse, addiction, bullying, performance, life changes, anxiety, depression, PTSD, victims of crime, and veteran’s issues. If you or a family member is interested in meeting, give me a call at 949.391.8278 or email at calicounseling@gmail.com
